Gillian M.E. Hyde, owner of typealice Design Studios is, first and foremost, a vagabond. She's travelled the world, living and working on three different continents since 2001. She's been in sixteen different countries, and most of them have been visited alone.

At age 21, she graduated from CompuCollege in Halifax, Nova Scotia in their Web Site Design (E-Commerce program), achieving honours and finishing in the top five percent of the school, ranking as the highest female in her class.

Since graduating, Gillian has had the pleasure of working and travelling all over the world. Her favorite place is Africa's smallest country, The Gambia, where she taught computer skills to under-educated women in. She has also lived in Mexico, the British Virgin Islands, Luxembourg, Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia.

Gillian is the proud mother of a beautiful baby boy who was born in September, 2007. She is now a WAHM, sewing slings and developing websites. She is what they call an Attachment Parent; she breastfeeds, wears her baby as much as possible, cosleeps, cloth diapers and practices elimination communication.
