This weekend Clive and I joined 13 other people on a 52-foot sailboat and entered in a race. We were on the boat from 8am-4pm, and we ended up WINNING the race! First place! I had a great time, despite puking my guts up over the side of the boat for an hour.

You know what’s funnier than watching a dog eat peanut butter? Watching a little lizard eat little bits of your chewy caramel that you’ve left for him on the floor. HIL-ARIOU-S. Same concept, much funnier.
The other night, Clive found this photogenic frog hanging out on our wooden chair outside on our deck. He allowed me to get very close to him, and ended up falling asleep halfway through the photoshoot. Clive and I knelt down beside him for about half an hour, taking about 100 pictures each. [...]

A week and a half ago I planted some seeds in coke cans and yogurt containers. I collected the soil from beside my front yard, the entrance to the jungle. The island where we live is obviously lush, the soil fertile, but I had no idea how fast my plants would grow. Last [...]

If all goes well, tomorrow should be another step in the way of being A Real and True Adult. We found a (what seems like, upon first glance) PERFECT 1997 Vitara tonight and I WANT TO BUY IT. I gave Clive the go-ahead to tell the guy that we’ll take it if it runs [...]
Yesterday morning I was thinking about those old fashioned game shows that involve couples. One of the ones I used to watch had to do with asking both people in the couple the same question relating to the another (”Bob, what would Janet say is her favorite food?”) while the other is in a [...]
Lots of things have been happening in Clive-and-Gillian world lately. I’ve been spending a lot of time lately out of the house and in air conditioning, which is nice.
Clive has been baking a lot of key lime pies by himself lately, some go a little better than others. He was made one the [...]
Clive and I went fishing again the other night, and as usual, I outfished him. I caught another couple of Jack. I am always surprised how small they are in comparison to how strong they are. Here is an unflattering pictures of me showing you how much my pole bends.
Clive’s been trying [...]
Last night we drank (too much) beer and played beach volleyball with some other expats. I stayed off the court for as long as I could (I hate sports!), but ended up playing the last game. I think that because of my totally-wicked (pawha!) serves, I earned about five points (out of the 15 that [...]
