In place of an xmas tree: a fir-scented candle…

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| I <3 Clive| Travelling

Clive and I are exchanging gifts and having xmas dinner tonight because we’re going to Anegada tomorrow morning. We’ll be staying there until Monday evening, and I can’t wait to get out of here for a little while.

I am a genius, by the way. I had the idea to barter my web design skills for a free stay in a hotel in Anegada over the holidays, and one of the three hotels I contacted agreed, saying that it was a great idea. So for the weekend, Clive and I will be staying at Cow Wreck Bay Resort and taking pictures of their hotel, the island and all the amenities that the place offers for a free three-night stay. Had no one agreed to my offer, Clive and I would have been camping on the beach (I can think of 1000 worse worst case scenario though!).

It’s a quiet little xmas here because 1. shopping SUCKS on this island and 2. we’re broke and 3. we have no close friends to spend time with. I’m really glad we’re getting away because it means a lot of fishing, snorkeling, swimming, picture-taking, underwater picture-taking and relaxation.

I am cooking dinner tonight. We’re having cranberry sauce, candied carrots, stuffing, chik’n nuggets (in place of the turkey!), mashed potatoes, green beans, wine and homemade pumpkin pie.

On top of that, our Nip/Tuck season finale has been downloaded, and we’re watching that! Carver= exposed! I can’t wait.

I’m far from religious and use this season only for eating without guilt. But regardless, happy holidays all!

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
