I took most of yesterday off and Clive and I had a wonderful afternoon. It’s rare that I actually take some time for us and my Self, but after a hard week, and likely an even harder week coming, I really needed it.
After doing a major cleaning on the house, we went out for a cheap meal at a vegetarian restaurant in town that we’d never been to before. It was delicious. We also went to the Red Cross thrift store and picked up Punch Drunk Love and some George Clooney movie that we’ve never heard of for $2/each and The DaVinci Code (the novel) for fifty cents. Score.
Clive told me a couple of weeks ago that he found a surprise place to take me, and we finally went there today. It was technically a “Shell Museum” but it looked like it’d been deserted for years. It should have been called a “Strange Homemade Sign” museum, because there were more scrap pieces of wood with sayings (all included poor grammar/spelling mistakes) on them than anything. It was a really special place. After the museum, we kept driving along the coast and took lots of pictures, stopping at an old sugar mill to take pictures and read up on slavery in the BVI.
Clive cooked me dinner and we started watching Memoirs of a Geisha before he took off to go fishing for tarpon. I don’t go with him as often anymore because he uses live bait and I can’t stand to see the baby fish die. When he gets home we’ll watch Project Runway and fall asleep in each other’s arms. I can’t wait until he gets home.
