Cock Fights!

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Gillian| Videos

Here’s the third edition of my video-BVI series. This one features a cock fight (over a piece of my pastery), tropical flowers, the beach where Clive and I want to get married, our cat and a bunch of other stuff.

I love the song by Hans Zimmer. It’s from the movie “True Romance” which is one of my all time favorites.

Your videos make me want to cry and make me wonder why I chose a suburban life with a shitty job.

Also, this has had me wondering: what do you and Clive do for money? Obviously, you design websites, Clive’s thing is fishing… does that pay the bills? Do you HAVE bills?

Was it hard just going down there and finding a place to live? All these stupid mundane details of my everyday suburban life make me wonder if you have to deal with them too.

You make me hate you every time you post one of these videos… in that green with envy kind of way.

They are getting better and better and I find it really interesting how your selection of music changes the whole vibe of the videos. These are really fabulous. Keep it up!

Liz,

I tend to work about 70 hours a week. I have a day job here for an investment company. It’s a 40 minute commute, arrive at 8.30, take no lunch, work till 5, get home at 5.40 if I don’t go to the gym. If I do, we generally get home at 6:45 or so. I cook dinner, work on websites, maybe watch tv or 1/3 of a movie (a movie usually takes us three evenings to complete), and then go to bed. Although my life in the videos may seem glam, it’s definitely not. It doesn’t matter where you go if you’re working. People think that because we live in the caribbean, things must be much more relaxed, but basically- WRONG. Things are 50% more expensive here, we’re spending $700us/month for a bachelor apartment. Gas is expensive, food is expensive, things suck and some things are good. I work this many hours a week because if I didn’t, we couldn’t live here. We’re coming out on the short end- we’re going in debt by living here.

But yes, it is pretty and can be relaxing.

Clive also has a day job and only goes fishing a few times a week.

Thanks for the clarification. I know it sounds weird to be like “wow, I’m happy you don’t have it as easy as I thought you did”, but at least I’m not fooling myself in thinking “Wow, Gillian sits on the beach and has sex with Clive all day. WHAT A LIFE I WANT IT.”

I’m sorry you’re going into debt, though. :(

hahah. That is TOTALLY NOT MY LIFE. We work hard, we don’t get to play that often, and we basically spend a lot of time indoors and on our respective computers. We’re lameos for sure. :)
