I spent some time taking pictures this weekend of almost everything that you requested to see pictures of, and here they are!
My house, as I guess I’ve failed to mention before, is a bachelor apartment. Clive and I live semi-comfortably in one small room. We have absolutely no privacy, and for that reason I hope to leave when our year-long lease runs up at the beginning of September. However, the view is absolutely beautiful, rent is faily affordable, and we’re close to the beach and Clive’s favorite fishing spot. We’re pretty far from where I work, which is the worst part about it.
So, here is our:
Kitchen:

Bathroom:

Bedroom:

Jen asked what I bought that meant the least to me then but means the most to me now, and I’d have to say a few things: The set of camping pots and the queen sized mattress that we purchased before leaving Canada. For some reason pots are very, very expensive here and we can’t afford to buy them, so for the past seven months we’ve made due with very small pots for all of our meals- but they’ve worked fine! We’d initially bought the mattress for camping, but while our apartment came “fully furnished”, the bed was… gross- so we keep our mattress on top of the frame and it works well and is very comfortable.
My favorite shoes are these:

It’s very hard to take a picture of shoes yourself, but here are two different views of them (and not showing my toes!). I’m not a huge fan of the heel, but I still love everything else about them.
My most prized posession is, of course, my computer:

My beloved vegetable garden (which you’d really have to see in real life in order to get the full effect) is here, and the picture below are my successful tomatos!!

The nature view that I see most often is the one I can see every day from my deck:

Christine’s favorite boy and one of our pet lizards:

And my favorite request was for something that made me smile. It allowed me to be aware of everything that made me smile this weekend, and here are some of them:
The cake I made last night that Clive and I opted to have for dinner instead of cooking something else. Note: being an adult and doing that: a dream come true!!

A couple of lizards with half of their tails missing:

Our cat who gives herself a bath while sitting on her “bum”. When she sits like this I say the only Simpsons quote I know: “I wash myself with a rag on a stick.”

Misc stuff:

Clive and I celebrated our YEAR anniversary on Friday night. Here are some pictures before we went out to a very expensive dinner that turned out to be the best food we both had since arriving.
