Get me away from these accents!!

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Travelling

I’m hijacking Halifax Airport wireless internet. My flight to Toronto was supposed to leave in an hour but… of COURSE it’s delayed! Because, really? That’s the kind of week I’ve been having. There’s thunder and lightening in Toronto and so everything’s backed up. I checked in at 4pm, and they already bumped back the flight [...]

The Worst Travelling EVER

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Travelling

Details: I woke up at 5am, got to the airport at 6am for my 7am flight to San Juan. They were a bunch of disorganized fools there, and had too many people checking in (two flights, 44 minutes apart- just on AA) and only one security line. I literally had to run across the [...]

Sitting Still

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

I’m having a very hard time sitting still for longer than five minutes. There’s so much to do that I can’t concentrate on anything. I’ve been up since about 5:45am, it’s only 11:15, and I already feel like it should be getting dark.
Yesterday I was sick. I think it was a combination of exhaustion [...]

The Last Saturday

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Travelling

I started packing and organizing myself last night. I’ve got the majority of my clothing in a suitcase, and have been throwing away a lot of stuff. I put all of my “beauty products” in one area and realized that HOLY JESUS, I have a lot of them. Most of them were given to [...]

Where the Hell is Matt?

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Design| Gillian

I just got an email from a stranger saying, “How many marriage proposals do you get per week?” Ha!!
I’m assuming they arrived at my website (like a lot of other people lately) through wherethehellismatt.com which is my latest design and development project. His level of internet fame reached an astounding level, far greater than my [...]

Stressstressstresssss

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Gillian| I <3 Clive

I haven’t slept well in days. I’m so stressed out.
Last night’s bad sleep was due to the fact that Clive and I lost a piece of paper right before he left that allows us to sell the car. The vehicle transfer form either has to be signed in front of the DMV people or [...]

Cat in one hand, veil in the other

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Gillian| Wedding

I spent the morning shopping, doing laundry, taking the next step in selling my car, grocery shopping and getting the mail. I was very VERY pleased to see that a small package from a BME Friend had finally arrived- nearly two months after she sent it from FL. In it contained a veil- [...]

I may need therapy…

Posted by: typealice In: BVI| Daily| Gillian

1. Be happier
2. Don’t worry as much
3. Stop swearing so often
These are some new self-inflicted rules that I will live by as soon as possible. With some encouragement from Clive, who is arguably one of the most laid back people (sometimes to a fault) that I’ve ever met. These things should make my life- and [...]

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian| I <3 Clive| Travelling

I’m in a FABULOUS mood today. In less than 24 hours I’m going to be whisked off on a small plane to St. Maarten for the weekend. The plane ticket was moderately cheap ($147/return) and I was so charming on the telephone with a hotel owner that she not only gave me an “islander discount” [...]

Weird!

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Links

This may be old news to people who read Fark, but:

WOAH!

  • Siobhan: Robyn: Are you being sarcastic? Why would you be bothered it was an April fool's joke, which was a yearly tradition at BME.
  • Robyn: I'm really bothered by the fact that that entire article is a lie seeing as you two didn't bite each others fingers off and you photoshopped all of th
  • typealice: SO funny. Idiots.

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
