We joined GoodLife a couple of weeks ago, but because of our opposite schedules we can’t often go together. I wanted to join GoodLife primarily because they had televisions to watch while working out. There’s nothing I dislike more when excersising than seeing the clock slowly tick by, or trying to read a magazine with small print while you’re bouncing up and down.Last night we worked out together because Clive called in sick (he can’t STAND his job) and we had a great time doing a 45-minute circuit of weights, a few minutes in the pool, whirlpool and then sauna. I slept better and longer than I have in weeks.
I like GoodLife, even though I find it over priced, and I really like the fact that we have a coed gym AND a girl’s gym. I go to the girl’s gym when Clive’s not with me, mostly because it’s way more comfortable to not be in the presence of buff guys, but also because our TVs are tuned into better stations. In the coed gym there’s generally about 3/6 stations tuned into sports games. In the girl’s, we’ve got TLC and stations that play Friends (and I’m sure soap operas during the day). So much nicer than watching golf, and then slow motion swings in golf, and then the same swing again from a different angle.
When I get a little more confident about being in the gym, I plan on signing up for some classes. I hear BodyPump is good, and I’d also like to try some yoga or pilates. I’m staying far away from the hip hop class, because we saw them last night and they looked like a bunch of idiots, and I hate dancing anyway.
