I Hate Maxtor

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

About two months ago I bought a 250 gig hard drive to use as a backup/storage unit. I bought a case for it, and moved all of my photos, movies, design work and TV shows onto it, tired of lugging around 23948322340 DVDs worth of data.  I didn’t like the idea of DVDs as backups because they’re [...]

Ambera, the Talented

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Design| Family| Links

I’ve mentioned her a million times before, I’m sure, but sometimes I still can’t believe she and I came from the same person. My sister and I could not be more opposite people, but she’s my best friend, and she’s SUPER talented (quite unlike me) in the arts. We spent the past couple [...]

For Sale

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

I have two pairs of shoes to sell, as I just bought them off of the internet and they don’t fit. I’ve never had to wear a size 9 before, but I guess with these styles, I do. The size eights I bought are definitely size seven. I will sell them for cheaper than I [...]

“Me Tarzan, you Jane”

I found this link pretty interesting. Who knew that “Me Tarzan, you Jane” has never been uttered in books or movies?? Not me!

Blog to Profit

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| To Profit

So, in case you’ve been keeping up with my journal and wonder what the HELL is going on with my random posts with one random link, let me introduce you to something that I “accidentally” got involved with.
Blog to Profit.
I heard about them from another blog, and figured I’d try it. This other blogger promised [...]

Art

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| To Profit

I’m writing this instead of designing my sister’s new website. Ambera, of amberas.com, is getting more and more successful with every painting she creates. I’m so proud of her.  I can’t believe how much she’s grown from a little girl who was really good at drawing horses (and never stopped drawing them into someone who [...]

Awards

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| To Profit

When I was 18 and applying to universities, I knew I wanted to go to school in Ontario.  I’d wanted to go to the University of Waterloo since I was 15 and read in McLean’s magazine that it was rated the best school to attend in the entire country.  I applied to several universities, not [...]

Brand Reputation Management

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| To Profit

Did you know that I don’t even have a counter on my blog? I have no idea who visits here or how often or who you are who reads me.  I don’t advertise the fact that I have my blog, I rarely link it from other places (posting comments in other blogs, yes, sometimes, but [...]

Hair Loss

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| To Profit

Hair transplants freak me out. I would hate to be the doctors that do it… taking little hairs from other parts of the body and placing them under the scalp. Something about it just sends shivers down my spine. I’m still not really sure where they get those little hairs and how it tranfers into [...]

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
