Did you know that I don’t even have a counter on my blog? I have no idea who visits here or how often or who you are who reads me. I don’t advertise the fact that I have my blog, I rarely link it from other places (posting comments in other blogs, yes, sometimes, but other than that, no). I don’t even know who I’m writing this for anymore.
I have a blog on BME, and I tend to write there before writing here. That blog allows me to say whatever I want to because 1. People there are much more opened than the general public 2. My mom and Clive’s family can’t read it, and frankly, I like my privacy about some things away from certian people. 3. This blog is linked to my website and anyone who googles my name (including my employers) could easily find my blog, and I don’t want to be one of those people who end up being fired for accidentally offending someone or whatever people get fired for blogging for.
There are those who advertise and advertise and advertise though… and I think it’s good, I guess, as long as you’ve actually got something interesting to say and can say it well. There are even blog strategy companies out there like this one for brand reputation management. Some people are desperate to be heard.
