Pitiful!

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

I had no lunch today, so I went to a food court in a nearby mall (which is just full of empty stores and shady small companies) and got a wrap and an orange juice. I only ate half of the wrap and saved the rest for shortly before going to our weight training class [...]

If you like riddles, you will like this website. Or, you may hate it because it’s HARD (in some parts), and you will become addicted!
I started last night and have only made it to level 12 (but haven’t spent more than a couple of hours doing it). Look at the forums if [...]

A-PAULED!

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

Today at work I was listening to CBC radio and a woman who sits next to me told me it was “driving her crazy” and that she HATES talk radio! Who hates CBC?! I told her I thought that she would like it, and she’s like, “honey, I grew up in the 1960s.” WTF does [...]

Today I want nothing more than to be in an old farmhouse on the Atlantic ocean, tucked away in some inlet in Nova Scotia with a mortgage and a pregnant belly and a warm bed to fall asleep in.
I’ve wanted to own and renovate my own 150 year old farmhouse for as long as I’ve [...]

Before and After

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

I asked for an inverted bob. I did not get an inverted bob. I got a boring bob with layers. I wanted the front longer than the back. She gave me a front that was short, just like the back. And layers around my face. I went to a “trendy” salon where most of the [...]

Maybe I’m Just a Freak?

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

Occasionally I get this horrible, horrible feeling in the back of my throat- it’s as if I have a large pill (marble sized, perhaps) suck in my throat- and there’s nothing I can do to get rid of it. It’s a constant annoyance and pain; it’s so so so uncomfortable. The one I have right [...]

NO MEAT!!!

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Gillian

Last night we went out to dinner with four of our friends to a fancy restaurant. There was nothing on the entrees section for vegetarians- NOTHING! So I spoke to our waiter and he said that the chef would cook up something for me. For an appetizer, I ordered a grilled tomato dish with a [...]

Passworded Posts

I’ve gotten several email requests for the passwords to my top secret posts below- and I’m sure there are lots of people out there who read my blog and want to know what’s going on, but don’t want to email me because they don’t want to admit that they read my blog. (Exs? friends of [...]

Online Shopping

Posted by: typealice In: Daily| Links

I went to the mall today to start xmas shopping. Boy was that unsuccessful.  I don’t like malls- they’re uninspiring to me. I just look around and see boring items that aren’t innovative or something you’d say, “WOW! Where’d you get THAT from??”
I love it when I can give gifts to people and they say [...]

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
