11 Weeks, 1 Day

Posted by: typealice In: Baby| Daily

I don’t think my uterus has popped over my pubic bone quite yet, but in the past week I’ve not been able to comfortably wear my work pants with the button done up, and I’m definitely looking a bit different in my lower stomach. Clive says that I’ve started to show, and I just laugh because in a couple of months (and especially in six months), I know I’m going to believe that we were crazy for thinking that I was “showing” at 11.5 weeks when I’m as big as a house.

Regardless, tomorrow I have to go shopping for low rise work pants so that I can wear them (hopefully) throughout my pregnancy, because the ones I have now won’t cut it for another week. Luckily I’m won’t be working past the seven-month mark, so they should continue to fit.

By this time next week, I’ll be in my second trimester. Woah.

You should do one of those “picture a day” things with your pregnancy, it would be cool to see your progress.

If you haven’t seen it already, you will probably like the Maternity Gallery page.

I hadn’t seen that, J! And it was neat to see- however a lot of those pictures make me feel bad because I’m not showing yet, and they are! Not fair!

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
