Happy Belated Mother’s Day, mamas!
Yesterday was my first mother’s day. Clive ordered me something special online (I had to pick it out though, which means I’ll like it!), but it hasn’t arrived yet, sadly.
Clive gave me the chuck taylors I’ve wanted since I was 15 and saw Kurt Cobain wearing them. YAY! He is awesome!
Yesterday we went out with Clive’s mom and step dad, his sister and her husband and his parents for brunch. It’s something I probably wouldn’t have chosen to do for the day, but it was a good time anyway. Lots of good food! I miss my mom a lot. She’s off gallivanting around the Grand Canyon this month, so I didn’t even get to talk to her.
Here’s what I wished I have done yesterday instead:
1. Teleport myself and Clive down to Tortola
2. Drive to the West End, hop into a little dingy and go snorkeling around Great Thatch Island (the one in the distance) for a few hours, seeing huge schools of small fish that I can swim through
3. Get back on land and drink four pina coladas
4. Play frisbee on the beach
5. Drink a couple of beers and smoke some Drum tobacco
6. Eat dinner at the vegetarian restaurant in Road Town (or teleport myself back to Halifax, just for dinner, at eat at the vegetarian restaurant there)
7. Teleport myself back to mainland North America somewhere and get an hour-long massage, head to toe by a professional
8. Have great sex
9. Fall asleep in the world’s most comfortable bed with lots of pillows and white bedding with Clive.
Instead,we watched the (dissapointing [who I wanted to win did not]) Survivor finale, got a back rub, got an email from my sister that made me bawl (twice) about my future of being a mother, and made sushi for dinner.
