My Beautiful Baby Boy

Posted by: typealice In: Baby| Videos

I edited down over an hour of 3D/4D ultrasound footage from last week into just a little over three minutes. Even though I drank pop in order to get the baby active, he still remained folded like an accordion for the entire appointment. For the first half an hour, we only saw legs and arms, both of which were covering his face. He eventually uncovered his face slightly, but around the 2 1/2 minute mark, you’ll see him with his foot on his forehead.

Editing this video made me realize just how lucky I am to have the ability to grow and carry a child inside of my body. Recently he’s stopped kicking so much, and I feel him actually shift around. Clive and I agree that these subtle movements, which feel much stronger from the outside, make the reality of the situation that much stronger. It truly is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced.

Oh, and here’s a short clip of his movements- though they’re not very strong on video, I can feel nearly everything he does.

About

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.

I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
