We made it! Clive and I moved in the majority of our belongings last night and I haven’t stopped organizing and unpacking since. I don’t think I even got six hours of sleep last night. It’s 5:30pm, and I’ve been doing laundry since 8am. I’ve washed everything our baby will wear and have organized everything [...]

Recipes?

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Cooking

Anyone want to share some good recipes for meals that you prepare and freeze before giving birth? I’d like to spend the next week cooking, but outside of chili and spaghetti sauce, I have no idea what to cook! I’m a vegetarian, but I think it’d be fun to share some ideas!

The Ticker Says 17 Days!

Posted by: typealice In: Baby

Things are well here. Had my last doctor’s appointment in my home town’s hospital yesterday, and everything’s great. I tested negative for Group B Strep, which is excellent. The baby has been head down for a couple of weeks and sometimes presses on a nerve from dropping slightly and it feels like he’s trying to [...]

No Longer Homeless

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Family|Gillian|I <3 Clive

So, after freaking the FUCK out the other day and over-analyzing why exactly I wanted to move back to the East Coast (1. My mom 2. The beautiful, powerful ocean 3. It’s not Ontario), and kicking myself repeately for what seemed like such a terrible idea, we got an email from the people who will [...]

Bad Times

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Gillian|I <3 Clive

I’m continuing to think that this move to Nova Scotia was a HUGE mistake. Clive’s still no closer to finding a decent job in the Halifax region. He’s started a job this week which he’ll have to quit when we move to the city, because it’s better than nothing, but it’s only $10/hr, and that [...]

Blood Pressure Readings

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

Clive and I thought this was neat. We have nearly identical blood pressure rates, but my pulse is nearly twice as high as his! I think it’s probably because I have twice as much blood as him? Clive’s reading is on the left, mine is on the right.

36 Weeks

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

Clive and I have been busy downloading and watching the first season of Heroes when we haven’t been driving back and forth between Halifax looking for places to live. Dude, that show is so good! I’ve heard mixed things about it, and we generally stick to reality tv, but we’re both really enjoying the show. [...]

FUCK EVERYTHING

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

Everything is NOT coming together and my week of not being panicked is over and now I’m starting to freak out again. For fucks sake.

I <3 Bathing Suit Weather

Posted by: typealice In: Gillian|I <3 Clive

An early morning fishing/swimming trip resulted in these pictures: I am a beached whale: I seem to have suffered from a terrible rope swing accident and drowned: Clive had a lot of fun. ————- I made a change pad today. It’s super awesome. I still have enough supplies to make another one, so if you [...]

Enough Bad Shit

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

It’s time to focus on the good stuff… 1. Our car insurance rates dropped from $125/month to $71/month for both Clive and I because we moved to NS. Yay! 2. Clive went fishing yesterday in a (stocked) lake and caught lots of small bass. We both wish we had a boat so that we weren’t [...]

  • Asheo: 3rd birthday is coming up really soon! So a few days early... Happy Birthday Ash!
  • April: I feel the blog revolt as well. I am not comfortable saying some of the things I would like to say with strangers, and I don't feel I'm able to mask
  • Stefanie: Hello, I have been a follower of yours since the BME days… and have always found your blog fascinating. This came across my blog today, and I though
