Although I went to my doctor’s appointment yesterday and she estimated that I wouldn’t be giving birth for another ten days, I have been having regular contractions for over NINE hours (since midnight). For about two hours this morning Clive and I kept track of them, and they lasted 35 seconds and came every three minutes.

I have been trying to nap in between them, and they’ve slowed down to once every ten minutes or so. I only feel them in my back, and yes, they HURT. It really is weird to be in that much pain, and having the pain get stronger and stronger, and then to feel almost normal thirty seconds later. The pain basically disappears when I’m not having a contraction. The thirty seconds is absolutely brutal though, and will only get worse (and longer).
