Photo Op Gone Wrong

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Gillian|I <3 Clive

Here’s a sequence of photos that were taken when Clive wanted to put the baby into the pumpkin for a photo op. When he suggested doing it, I thought he meant putting the baby on top of the pumpkin, not in it. You can see Ash’s little feet stradeling the outside of the pumpkin so [...]

Six Weeks Post Partum Comparison

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Daily|Gillian

I was asked recently what my belly looks like now, seven weeks after giving birth. It’s mushier than it was before I got pregnant, of course, and is a bit more muffin-toppy than it has ever been in my life, but it’s okay, under the circumstances. I’m two pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, but I’d [...]

The Boobs

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Gillian

My boobs have officially lost all sexual context in my mind. They are only milk jugs, the life line for my son. I realized this when I was telling my sister and her boyfriend about how my son sleeps the best when my bare boobs are in his face. Sometimes when he stirs in his [...]

Ambera’s Blog

Posted by: typealice In: Family

I just added a new link to my sidebar: my sister’s blog. Most people know of her regular artwork website, which I maintain when I can, but when I gave birth, she knew that my free time would be a fraction of what it was, so she was smart and started up her own website [...]

Sling: 1, Stroller: 0

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Videos

We took Ash for his first ride in the expensive Graco stroller I bought before he was born. It claimed to be “SUV tough,” which was a big selling point for Clive because of the harsh Canadian winters and the several feet of snow that we’re often plagued with. Granted, the trail was pretty rugged, [...]

Surrounded by Children

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Daily

This weekend Clive’s sister and her family came from London, ON to meet Ash. It was one crazy weekend, as she has a three year old and a 14-month old and a husband who tends to repeat every second sentence for some reason, making me want to shout, “YES! I Heard you the FIRST time!” [...]

Dear Ashden: One Month

Posted by: typealice In: Baby|Monthly Newsletters

Dear Ash, Today you turn one month old. Never has a month gone by so quickly for me. Each day you become more and more beautiful. Even though you’re brand new, you’ve got some very obvious likes and dislikes: Nothing calms you down faster than water. You absolutely love the bath. You had your first [...]

  • Asheo: 3rd birthday is coming up really soon! So a few days early... Happy Birthday Ash!
  • April: I feel the blog revolt as well. I am not comfortable saying some of the things I would like to say with strangers, and I don't feel I'm able to mask
  • Stefanie: Hello, I have been a follower of yours since the BME days… and have always found your blog fascinating. This came across my blog today, and I though
