What I’m supposed to be doing…

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

I’m supposed to be sewing right now. P’lovers ordered a new batch of slings, 12 this time (horah!), so I shouldn’t be in front of the computer, but I need a minute of downtime before starting again.

This morning Ash woke up at 7:30, which I don’t remember him ever doing before, which meant that his regular 9am nap was cancelled, so I figured I’d try him on a new schedule, a one-nap schedule, and I paid for it dearly, with WHINING, oh the humanity, what a horrible little life my child lives, I must tell you about it in the most high pitched noises possible. By the time 6pm rolled around, I had it up to HERE, and I still had another hour before bedtime. We took three trips to the playground today, that’s just how bad it was. He also watched some Teletubbies. I admit it. I had to cook dinner and he would. not. stop. whining and crawling up my leg and then squirming when I picked him up and so I turned it on. Bad mama.

I’m pretty swamped with work, which is a good thing because it means that money is coming in. I am selling slings here and there, not really trying too hard, and am experimenting with other products like bibs and burp cloths, which I never use, but sell well as gifts, and with kleen kanteen cozies. If I could get my bibs into a store, that’d be great. Too much competition on Etsy. There are a lot of cute things out there!

As an update on my Mirena, everything is going well, outside of an eight-day period that just ended. I was really hoping that I wouldn’t get a period since I’m still nursing enough to ward it off, but it came about two weeks after the insertion and just ended a couple of days ago. No other complaints.

I have discovered Fluff. That marshmallow goop. OH MY FUCKING GOD, it is so good. Coming from someone who gave up marshmallows nearly ten years ago (because of the geletin), and who’s been known to buy $10/bag vegan marshmallows to make rice krispie squares, this stuff is heavenly. I love the texture, I love the taste, I love the smell. I eat it by the spoonful. I posted a Facebook status about it and got several different recipes for it (cream cheese and Fluff dip, on top of Nutella and on shortbread etc etc), but I plan on finishing this jar just with a spoon (or a fork or a knife, as I ate it today). Yes, I am disgusting. Mmmmm, Fluff.

Becky: it would work for that, for sure. I am planning on starting an etsy baby boutique, but haven’t gotten that far yet, heh. I’ve made a few and have the pattern down, but just haven’t had a chance to make a stock for an etsy store. I may be able to make you one as long as I have the measurements for your bottle (how tall you’d need it, and how wide the bottom is).

I just found it at a regular grocery store (superstore, but I don’t think you have those there), near the ice cream.

If you like fluff, have you tried RICEMELLOW? Its vegan, and a great replacement for fluff. You can even make rice krispy treats with it.

Our local healthfood store stocks it.
