Missing the Carribbean

Posted by: typealice In: Daily

On days like this, the days where the wind just slices through every layer of your clothes and it hurts to breathe because it’s so cold I wonder why I hated living in the Caribbean so damn much.

I hate winter. Seriously hate it. Hate it more than RL, hate it more than those idiot moms who said mean things to me during that wonderful CIO fiasco in October, hate it more than stubbing my toe, and that’s saying something.

I cannot wait for March.

Clive’s out looking for more plastic to cover our windows. Living in a 105 year old house means there are lots of cracks for the bitter cold to enter and for our precious heat to escape. We all have slippers now, Ash got a xmas present early- a beautiful pair of slippers from Padraig Cottage.

This has been an absolute brutal week, last night being almost as hard as day 10 of Ash’s life when he nursed constantly between 9pm-6am. I’ll write more about it in his newsletter tomorrow.

Hey, check out my friend Nicole’s Etsy shop- she’s got some absolutely BEAUTIFUL stuff that’d make a great xmas present for someone special.

I”m hearing you about the coldness of a hundred year old house! I’ve learned that even tons of plastic over the windows doesn’t keep the cold completely out. The drafts find a way in!
