So, I’ve started sewing handbags, as most of you have noticed. I haven’t sold any on Etsy because they dissapear into the Etsy-oblivion of complete MARKET SATURATION, but I have sold a few via my Facebook G Slings group, which is great.
The only problem is that “G Slings” (which is now a registered business name, thank you very much) doesn’t really suit handbags and other accessories. So I’ve had to start a new name for those things, and I’ve decided to call it “Pip Robins.” I know I have a reader that goes by the name “Pip” but I actually got the name from the author of a book that was mentioned on LoobyLu the other day and I fell in loooooove with the name.
My sister suggested “Robins” and there we go. We spent an evening doing the logo and then I registered the domain name (www.piprobins.com) (there’s nothing there yet). I have ordered some labels from my label person on Etsy and will soon be labeling my bags and other things under that name.
I’ve recently started sewing cloth pad pouches (as per a request from one reader here) and put them under my G Slings account over on Etsy. There’s two styles, one with just a liquid-proof liner and the other with two compartments, one with the liquid-proof section for used pads and another section for new pads. I haven’t put them all up on Etsy yet, but they’re coming.
Last night I started sewing Neck Warmers because 1. I saw a guy walking down the road the other day who was wearing something similar and he looked SO SEXY- and I never, ever, neeeever say that about men- and 2. I’m SO tired of wearing my same old scarf with my stupid jacket and mits and it all just becomes so dull day after day after day and so I made a couple of them and they’re SO nice. Clive likes them too, so I made one for him and for my sister’s boyfriend.
Clive and I took some photos of them this afternoon as the sun was coming into my sewing room and with the help of our new Canon Rebel (yes, I bought it. Yes, I was able to sell my old one for $500, so the new one only cost me $25!!), the pictures turned out really well. And hopefully these will sell.

My mom came up today and along with my sister took Ash out for a walk and a visit to a library so that I could do some work, and it was so appreciated because I got about ten of them done in a few hours. There will be more up in the next couple of days, and I’m moving everything that’s on my typealice Etsy account over to my Pip Robins one too. So, update your bookmarks.
