You know I don’t actually look like this, right?

Posted by: typealice In: G Slings|Gillian

So my mother came up again today to help out with Ash so I could spend some time sewing and getting things together. Ash basically forgot I even existed until I turned my sewing machine on and then I’d hear, “mama!” from the living room and off he’d come to see what I was doing. So, I was basically in front of the computer for most of the time, going through the FIVE FREAKING HUNDRED pictures I’d taken of myself in the first 30 minutes of his nap earlier in the day. I had neckwarmers to model, and I wanted them to look good.

Seems like a complete waste of time now, but I like photo editing. It’s relaxing. I went through all the photos and chose three of the best for each neckwarmer and then took out some of my freckles and undereye wrinkles and my annoying chicken pox scar between my eyes. It did take 500 pictures for me to get it right, even with the right camera and the sunshine coming in the office window at the right angle.

Here’s the proof. I didn’t even do the eyes very well because I was tired of it by then… but the one on the left is the original (completely untouched except for the image size) and the one on the right is what I’m going to put on Etsy.

I wish I could photoshop better (at all). I swear every photo of me has some tiny temporary blemish. I also have a red dot in the corner of my eye that in photos tends to make my eye look smaller and I HATE it.

PS: Neckwarmers = awesome.

When Clive and I got together we kept teaching each other our photoshop skills. Such a great tool to have.

Thanks for liking the neckwarmers

You know there is hardly any difference, right? ;b I actually prefer your eyes in the before version because they’re more blue. Your features are amazing!

I guess I see the difference because I’m me. Interesting you say that about the eyes though because I didn’t touch the colour of them at all. :)

True :) Maybe the light perhaps is making your eyes lighter in the after shot? Or am i going crazy?? I know! There’s more shade around your eyes in the before shot.. I think? :)

I guess it’s cause I adjusted the curves on the entire picture. I think my eye colour was probably lightened a little bit in the second one. :)

Oh good, I’m not going bat shit crazy then! It’s kind of hard to pay attention to anything you’re selling when you’re wearing it though :)

Woah, it’s like smiley faces exploded in here!

It’s weird, because if I have a photo of one of my products without me in it, it gets NO hits, I’m talking single digits in days, but as soon as I’m in one of them, hits galore! I don’t get it.

It’s because you’re in them! Everyone wants to see you. Then they probably look at what you’re selling so it’s win/win.
