About
My name is Gillian. I grew up in Nova Scotia, and started travelling at age 20 with a solo trip around Europe. My life has been very eclectic, working different jobs, living in different places and meeting different people. I’m most comfortable when I’m not stagnant.
I’ve visited seventeen different countries (all over Canada and the USA, Mexico, England, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Holland, British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten, Cuba and The Gambia), and have lived on three different continents. I’m currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia and love being back home.
I have been designing websites since 2000, and have been lucky enough to make a career out of it.
I gave birth to a little boy on September 9, 2007. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I am extremely passionate about breastfeeding and would go sofar as to call myself a “lactivist.”
I own a sling business called G Slings and run an Attachment Parenting website called AP Mamas .

I'm Gillian, a Nova Scotian woman with a son named Ash (born 09/07) and a wife to Clive. I am what they call an Attachment Parent; I breastfeed, wear my baby as much as possible, cosleep, cloth diaper and practice elimination communication. I have very strong parenting views. We are raising Ash as an organic vegetarian. I care about the environment and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint and set a good example for others, especially my child.I'm proudly drug free, but can't say that I have always been. My early 20s were comprised mostly of travelling- I've lived and worked everywhere from West Africa to the Caribbean. I currently run AP Mamas, a site dedicated to attachment parenting and G Slings, my sustainable sling company.
