So I’ve started tweeting… those of you who are on my friends list on Facebook probably see how often I update my status (like, every hour?) and so hopefully I can move myself away from constant FB updates and move onto the world of miniblogging. I don’t have many people to follow, so if you’re [...]

I <3 My Mom

Posted by: typealice In: Cooking|Daily|Gillian

I grew up with a vegetarian hippie mother (who still ate fish) and an extreme meat-eater step father. This resulted in a very interesting diet. One night I’d be eating spaghetti with “meatless meat balls” (I’m still not sure what they were made of, but I think they had walnuts in them), and the next [...]

Blueberry Grunt

Posted by: typealice In: Cooking|Daily

One of the best things about being back in Canada are the cheap groceries. A pint of blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries or a quart of strawberries were $10.00 each in the BVI, and here they’re $1-3.00. Last night I bought the ingredients to make Blueberry Grunt. It’s a East Coast of Canada kind of recipe, [...]

Here’s the recipe everyone’s been waiting for! And yes, it’s easily vegan-izable. • April: I feel the blog revolt as well. I am not comfortable saying some of the things I would like to say with strangers, and I don't feel I'm able to mask
  • Stefanie: Hello, I have been a follower of yours since the BME days… and have always found your blog fascinating. This came across my blog today, and I though
